PowerPoint About Us
> Celebrating 50 Years and Valuing the Future
We are an
association that focuses on our members who have an interest in property
assessment valuation. A significant number of our members are
practicing assessors who contribute their expertise in the valuation of
property for taxation purposes in Alberta. The Association also
provides related products and services to our members, the public and
Alberta municipalities.
The Alberta Assessors'
Association (AAA) was registered under the Societies Act of Alberta
in January, 1962. Registration as a profession, under the Professional and Occupational
Associations Registration Act (POARA), and governance by the Municipal
Assessor Regulation (MAR) under that Act, was passed in March, 1994. The AAA
is an affiliate member of the International Association of Assessing
Officers (IAAO) and maintains strong relationships with assessment associations
across Canada and the United States.
This
web site provides
information for all visitors, but provides a large amount of information
for the exclusive use of our members. In the public domain,

our leadership, volunteers and staff, our upcoming education sessions
and our annual conference. In the "Members Only"
section, authorized users will find a full listing of our members and their contact
information along with proprietary information about property assessment
publications and position documents. These publications and documents
are provided to our members on a complimentary basis and may be available
to the public for a fee. We provide links
to other web sites that are of interest and value to our members, that
include links to some property assessment associations across Canada
and the United States.
